--The Constitution Park Concert Series in Tequesta had been announced for this season. Kit Stewart, coordinator, said the rest of the series includes The Fabulons on Sunday, February 14, but at the new Paradise Park on Tequesta Drive. There will be a big car show then, too. Sunday, March 14 at Constitution Park, a country concert by Burnt Biscuit is scheduled. The April 3rd concert will feature the Southern Gents, a Dixieland Band. This will also be the Tequesta Easter Egg Hunt day. Friday, April 16, the final concert will be Spring Zing Thing Reggae Fest.
--In a Tequesta Drive bridge update, the Village of Tequesta announced that driving of the test piles has begun and a total of 46 will be diven over the next few weeks. Residents in the area may hear loud pounding and feel vibrations during the process. Those residents with questions about the bridge are asked to call the Village Clerk’s Office at 561-575-6200. Also, the Village has established an e-mail distribution system to advise residents of updates on the bridge and other activities going on in the community. --This month music,comedy and history will be featured at the Maltz Jupiteer Theatre. Tintypes is set for Feb. 8- 28, one of the theatre’s season shows. It is a patriotic musical revue that serves up a slice of pre-World War II Americana. Children’s show, Cinderella is scheduled for Feb. 13 at 10am. The show is inspired by one of the most popular fairy tales ever writen. Bobby Rydell takes the stage Sunday, Feb. 14, 8pm. It’s the perfect Valentine’s date with your sweetheart. Rydell is listed on Billboard as having 34 Top 40 hits and is one of the Top 5 artists of his era. Coming Monday, Feb. 14, 7:30pm is The Platters, the smooth and sophisticated group from the past that features velvety harmonies. The group helped launch the sound of Doo Wop. On Sunday, Feb. 21, 8pm, The Beatle Maniacs are coming to The Maltz. The group looks and sounds like The Beatles. Tickes for all shows are available at the theatre box office, or call.
--The first annual “Cancer Sucks, Kids Rock” music festival to benefit Kids Cancer Foundation of South Florida will kick off March 27, 10am-1opm, in Jupiter. It will be held at the Jupiter Riverwalks Events Plaza beneath the Indiantown Road Bridge. Spearheadin the event is Daniel Poulos. He said volunteers are need to help with the event. Sponsorship opportunities are also available. Big Vince and The Phat Cats are hosing he event, which is a celebration of music, food and family fun.
